Last year Kendal Torchlight launched the start of our summer internship program and we are back again this year with 4 amazing interns. Thanks to the support of Arts Council England we are able to run this amazing program and so much more this year too!

Our interns have been working for 3 months over summer to help with big build construction, community outreach, videography and marketing all for Kendal Torchlight. The interns received a 10 day training program in preparation, ran by local and regional professional artists and makers. Following their training they have been hard at work constructing giant puppets and running workshops in the local community.

“The Creative Arts Internship with Kendal Torchlight Carnival has been amazing!! It’s such a great opportunity to learn from many different talented and established artists, as well as make friends with the other interns. I’ve absolutely loved making giant puppets and discovering so many new processes and ways of approaching art. Would hugely recommend this internship for anyone who loves to create and it’s also a fantastic way to see how an arts event is put together from inception to delivery to clean up. Can’t wait for the big carnival parade at the end of September.” – Pheobe (Kendal Torchlight Intern)
