Come and say hi and find out more about what’s new this year every Saturday in the Market place from July 17th. Pick up festival kits to take away, plus demonstrations and mini workshops with the creative crew.

£10 including a meal!

Carnival Cafe is an amazing space to meet with other creatives, and is the beating heart of the summer programme where all the different projects collide. Its a great place to get a flavour of whats going on all around the community and try out different creative process and techniques. And There’s GRUB! Int the mist of all our creating we stop and enjoy a delicious Vegan meal together. Carrnival Cafe Costs £10.

Help create and perform in a home grown piece of street theatre.

Workshops with Jayne and/or work with Kate to create some amazing botanical costumes.

With the Torchlight Creative Crew

Throughout the summer our Creative Team are taking the making of carnival out to the community. Working with a variety of community groups and care homes, the team will be making flowers and other objects that will make up our giant lantern Garden in Abbot Hall park.

Our Creative Team will also be going out into schools, working with existing students and also visiting students who will be moving up to secondary school in September. They will have drumming classes and making workshops to learn new skills and help make items that will be displayed in the Garden of delights at Abbot Hall.

With Kate Reid

Join our Creative Crew costumier, the very talented Kate Reid, for a series of workshops exploring the art of costume making. Kate creates costumes for theatre companies and organisations throughout the North-West of England and has costumed productions at venues including: The Epstein Theatre, Liverpool; The Forum, Barrow-in Furness, The Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal and The Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness.
