Celebrating Community and Creativity:
School Workshops

Schools have always been an integral part of Torchlight and this year we want to
encourage as many schools as possible to enter.

This year's theme is...

This year’s theme is Folklore and Fantasy ! Imagine how you would create your own fantasy world : Mythical Beasts soaring through the air alongside witches, fairies, and woodland spirits; Lanterns exploring through the dark forests; Giants stomping along with their army of Unicorns, Phoenixes and Sea Serpents; and Dragons roaring fire onto us.

We think our theme this year lends itself to enabling you to be as creative as possible and it really is up to you what fantasy world you choose and what you do.

Help us celebrate 56 years
of Kendal Torchlight!

Kendal Torchlight is 56 years old this year and we aim to make it accessible for all celebrating our brilliant community. Kendal Torchlight is now a “walking” festival but we welcome bikes, pushchairs, wheelchairs, wheel barrows and trolleys.

Sign up to join in the fun!

We would love your school to get involved and maybe your parents will support you when creating your entry. We wanted to give you as much notice as possible so that you might be able to make use of afterschool clubs or possibly build creating your entry into the curriculum or tie it in with any school productions.

Creative support
for your workshops

In previous years we have been able to provide artist support to a limited amount of schools and community groups and this year we have gone out to businesses to seek sponsorship do this again.
