We have an exciting program of masterclasses run by visiting carnival experts who work on world class events.

These workshops are open to all and include topics such as Large Scale Sculpture, Costume Design, Performance, Puppetry, Dance and Movement.

They are open to anyone with an interest in creative carnival arts. They take place throughout the summer in Kendal.

Austin is a performer, theatre maker and carnival designer specialising in large scale puppets. Come and learn about what makes an engaging character, pick up some great design ideas and create your own costume or puppet for this years celebrations.

Fabric and Form

Jane has years of experience in carnival design, costume making and festival decoration. Come and learn about creating form using fabric and rods. We are going to be making giant grasses and botanicals for our lantern garden. We are really excited to have Jane on board again this year!

Dance and Movement

Global grooves are a nationally renowned carnival production company, they create amazing spectacles for celebrations ad events and collaborate with an incredible team of dancers, makers, performers and musicians.
