Kendal Torchlight Carnival 2021 brought a lot of change, it was our first year in our new home, Abbot Hall Park. It was a great success and brought so much of the community together. We had walking parades, live music, theatre performances and many other fun activities.
Last years theme was Garden of Delight and our artists, community groups and local families went big and bold – they took colour, scale and drama to the next level. For the processions we asked people to take inspiration from their own gardens as well as the beautiful nature that surrounds us in Kendal.
There were life sized creepy crawlies and butterflies, magnificent flowers and foliage, ginormous vegetables galore and everything in between.
