Torchlight 2023
Kendal Torchlight 2023 will be held on Saturday 23rd September. The town centre procession will be back, celebrating the best of Kendals past and present with the theme Old and New.

Enter Torchlight
Join the procession and help bring the town to life as we rebuild after covid. You can enter your school, community group, family and friends, or you can join our huge community entry “Help Kendal Bloom”. Lets make it bigger and better than ever!
About Torchlight
Kendal Torchlight has been a part of our community since 1970. Through the years it has seen lots of changes, but at it’s heart it remains a community event for the people of Kendal and those who come to celebrate with us. It is open to all, free and is created by the people of Kendal.
Schools
This year we are once again holding workshops in schools to create carnival crafts. We will be making lanterns and decorations for a giant community entry “Help Kendal Bloom” which all are welcome to join in. Schools can also enter independently and create their own entries.
WHATS ON?
2023 Activities
This year our summer programme will be giving everyone in the community a chance to join in with our festival making workshops. We will be working with Love Arts to create flowers and bees for a giant community procession entry. All are welcome to get involved.
On Saturday the 23rd September, the town centre will host a daytime festival with craft stalls, activities, live music and entertainment. In the evening the procession will light up the streets as it passes round a town centre loop for all to see.
