Theme announced for Kendal’s Torchlight Carnival 2015

Posted Tuesday, 24 March 2015, 10.40am

Kendal’s annual Torchlight Carnival has today announced it’s 2015 theme. This year Carnival entrants are encouraged to “THINK BIG”.

“This year we have chosen “THINK BIG” as our theme. Each year we’re amazed with the inspiration that our entrants take from the theme. In 2015 we want people to ‘think outside the box’ and let their creativity run wild! We hope that as many people as possible join in with the Carnival, whether as entrants or joining the crowds supporting them on the night”

“The Torchlight Carnival is a wonderful tradition in the town and our new team of volunteers are determined to build even stronger roots in the local community. Kendal’s Torchlight Carnival is a unique event and it’s our aim to deliver an experience that’s better than ever. It’s our celebration, so let’s make the most of it!”

Last year over 70 local schools, teams and organisations took part in the Carnival. Entry forms for this year’s event are now available on the Torchlight website.

The Kendal Torchlight Carnival began in 1970 and regularly attracts over 25,000 people to the streets of Kendal. The 2015 Torchlight Carnival is on Friday 11 September, with the procession starting at 7.30pm.
