The Torchlight Team works throughout the year promoting Kendal, community groups and local businesses in many ways.

Our function is to promote the best of Kendal to the rest of the world; to promote local business and enterprise, to show Kendal's skills talents and capabilities, and to enliven and stimulate Kendalian community spirit.

    A big thank you to the local schools and pupils who replied to our request to send in ideas for the theme. We can now officially announce the theme of Kendal Torchlight 2017 is ‘Fairy Tales’. The Torchlight Carnival takes place on Friday 15th September and Kendal Street Party on Saturday 16th September.   • Call for a Logistics Coordinator for Kendal Torchlight Carnival

    Kendal Torchlight is looking for a practical organiser to work alongside the Torchlight Team Leader as our within a dedicated and skilled team.
    You and the Team Leader will set up and lead the logistics, ensuring that all the practical arrangements for the Torchlight Procession are in place.   • Torchlight Marshalls

    Torchlight Marshals are part of the essential 160-strong team of volunteers without whom Torchlight can't happen. Each year we lose a few (we know, it's a little careless!) ... and we gain a few. We train and develop our Torchlight Marshals to professional standards, and they support a 45-yearold Kendalian tradition that enhances our community and our town. Contact Craig Baldwin to become a Torchlight Marshal.

  • Torchlight Management Team

    The Torchlight Management Team are the unpaid volunteers who work throughout the year to promote Kendal and to make Kendal Torchlight Carnival happen. We're  always seeking capable and committed people to join our Team. Contact Craig Russell if you want to develop your skills and talents, be able to say that you promote Kendal and take a pride in knowing that our Torchlight Carnival happens because you make it happen.
